I can't stop thinking about Telly's plans to get his GED. It's clear he was determined to create a better future for himself, both in and out of the ring. It's devastating that his ambitions were cut short by such an act of violence. I hope his commitment to self-improvement inspires others in the community to pursue their goals with the same passion he had. It’s so important that we work together to end this cycle of violence. Telly's legacy should be one of hope and positive change. Sending love and strength to his family and friends during this difficult time.
Has anyone heard any updates about Montell "Telly" Pridgett's case recently? It's been on my mind, especially considering the circumstances around his death and how young he was. I remember meeting Telly once during a community event at the UMAR Boxing Gym. Even if you didn't know him personally, you could just tell how much charisma and talent he had. It really hit home how gun violence impacts not just the victims but entire communities.
I know it's been a few years, but cases like these shouldn't go cold. Telly had so much potential, and it's a tragedy for his family and the Baltimore boxing community. Hoping that speaking up about it, here and elsewhere, encourages anyone with information to come forward. We owe it to him and his loved ones to keep the conversation going.
Does anyone have any thoughts or information about the role that the UMAR Boxing Gym played in Telly Pridgett's life? I’ve been reading about how supportive the gym community was and how much they rallied around him after his tragic death. It’s been mentioned that they held a vigil in his memory. It must have been incredibly difficult for his coach and fellow fighters to deal with the loss of someone they saw as part of their family. It makes me wonder how places like UMAR can offer support and guidance in such challenging environments. If anyone knows more about the gym or stories of how it impacted both Telly and the local community, please share. It seems like they’re doing important work in giving young people alternatives and a place to belong, and it would be great to hear more about how positive those influences can be.
