Just saw an interesting detail in Jerry Melinis' case that I hadn't noticed before. His car was found near Timber Cove Lodge, but his boat and trolling motor were missing. This makes me think he could have gone into the water, considering how close the marina is. I'm curious—does anyone know if there were any storms or unusual weather conditions around March 15, 1994? I wonder if that might have played a role in whatever happened. The placement of the car but absence of the boat seems really odd to me. Any locals from South Lake Tahoe or boating experts out there who can weigh in on how feasible it is to drop off your car and end up somewhere else by water without a trace? While it's a long shot, maybe someone saw Jerry or has some info from back then. Thoughts?

Hi everyone, I've been following Jerry Melinis' case out of South Lake Tahoe for a while and have become really curious about the circumstances surrounding his car being found near Timber Cove Lodge. It's so puzzling to me why his boat and trolling motor were never found. Given how close the car was parked to the marina, it suggests he might've been planning to hit the water. Does anyone familiar with the area think it's possible they could have drifted away or been taken by accident or for another reason? Also, considering it was 1994, what were the weather conditions like around Lake Tahoe in mid-March? Could this have played a role? It's like this detail is a critical piece of the puzzle, and yet it hasn't led investigators any closer to finding out what happened. Thoughts?

Has anyone else been curious about the missing trolling motor and boat from Jerry Melinis' case? It's been bugging me, considering his car was found parked near Timber Cove Lodge but those specific items vanished without a trace. Since he was an avid boater, you'd think they'd turn up somewhere—drifting or left abandoned. Were they deliberately taken away to throw off the search, or could they hold some clue that hasn't been uncovered yet? If any locals remember seeing anything around the marina that seemed a bit off back in March '94, maybe sharing could finally shine some light on where he might have gone. Over the years, it seems like such a key piece of the puzzle has been strangely overlooked. What do you all think?
