Hey everyone,
I've been following Bernard Mackey's case and something that really stands out to me is just how impactful it is on the community. Bernard seemed like a solid guy – a father, a businessman, someone with roots in his neighborhood. It's heartbreaking to think of his four children now dealing with such a tremendous loss. The fact that there’s been an uptick in older victims just adds another layer of worry for everyone living there.
It’s tough, but I keep thinking about how his death was reportedly linked to a domestic dispute. It makes me wonder about the support available for people in these situations. Are there systems in place that failed to do their part in preventing something like this? If Mackey's family ever reads these forums, I hope they know there are people out there who care and are thinking about them during this incredibly difficult time.
I'm curious to know what others think about the role of community resources in tackling domestic conflicts. Are there effective programs out there, or are we in need of more robust interventions? Any thoughts?
Stay safe, everyone.
