I've been following the case of Garfield Leon Jr., and it's so disheartening to see another life lost to violence. I've read a bit about the Park Heights neighborhood, and it seems like it's been struggling with crime for a while. What really gets me is how these communities are trying to push for change and yet these tragedies still happen. It's upsetting to think about how this ongoing violence impacts the families who are left behind without answers. I hope for them, and for the community, that there will be some progress in solving Garfield's case. Trust between the police and the community seems like such an important part of making headway. Without it, I suspect it’s an uphill battle to find justice for victims like Garfield and prevent future violence. If anyone has thoughts on how to help foster better community-police relations in areas like Baltimore, I'd really love to hear. It seems like such a crucial piece of the puzzle.
