I've been reading through the details of Janice Lynn Dipietrantonio's case, and one detail that just sticks with me is the dismissal of the protective order she filed against Kevin back in 2017. It’s genuinely upsetting to think about how often survivors of domestic violence retract orders or don't feel safe enough to pursue them, for whatever complex reasons. It really sheds light on the challenges people face when trying to escape abusive relationships. I can’t help but wonder if more could've been done to support Janice back then. Do any locals know if there are initiatives or support systems in Dundalk for victims of domestic violence? We need to do everything we can to prevent tragedies like this in the future. Sending love to Janice’s family and hoping they find some peace during this painful time.
