It's so difficult to even begin processing the loss of Calvin Carter. I didn't know him personally, but from everything I've read and heard about him, it's clear that his impact on the community was profound. A friend of mine who worked with him at a local charity described him as someone who was always willing to lend a hand, no questions asked. It makes my heart ache to think about the void left behind for his family and friends. I've been following the case closely and noticed how Calvin’s death sparked conversations about community safety and gun violence. It's sad to see how common stories like his have become in cities across the country. It’s a harsh reminder of how much work needs to be done to ensure people can walk their neighborhoods without fear.
