I keep coming back to the impact this case must have had on the local community in Westminster. Stephen Hartman's passing was undoubtedly a heavy blow to his friends and neighbors who knew him. I imagine there were many who couldn't reconcile the image of a father and son at odds to such a devastating end. I also wonder about the support systems in place for families experiencing domestic struggles like these and whether more awareness or resources could have prevented such a tragedy. It’s a sobering reminder of how critical it is to address and understand domestic situations before they escalate. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.
