I can't get over the sadness I feel for Peter Gardea Boikai’s family, especially his mom, Roseline. Imagine rushing around searching for your child in local hospitals on Christmas when most people are home celebrating. It’s hard to fathom the mix of hope and dread she must have felt until she learned the truth about his fate. I’ve been thinking a lot about the location where Peter was found. The 1600 block of Presstman Street seems to be one of those places you hear about often in crime reports. How many more promising lives must be lost before we see real change? It’s deeply concerning that no arrests have been made, and it makes me wonder what more can be done to bring justice to Peter’s family—and to all the families who’ve lost someone. If anyone knows anything about what happened that morning, please speak up. Peter’s family deserves closure and, more importantly, justice. Thoughts are with them during this incredibly difficult time.

I recently came across the tragic case of Peter Gardea Boikai, and it's been on my mind a lot. I can't stop thinking about his mother, Roseline, and what she must have gone through when she received that call while at work. I can't even begin to imagine the horror of desperately searching hospitals, clinging to the hope that her son was still alive, only to face the devastating reality at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. It's a cruel reminder of how fragile life is, especially for young people in Baltimore. The fact that he was in a neighborhood he didn't even live in, just visiting friends, makes it even more heartbreaking. It seems unjust that his family has to endure not only the loss of their beloved Peter but also the frustration of an unsolved case. I hope that someone who knows something finds the courage to come forward. The family deserves answers and closure. Let's continue to spread awareness and keep the conversation going in the hopes that Peter’s case, and others like it, won't remain another statistic. If anyone here has ties to Baltimore or has heard anything about what happened that day, please speak up. His family needs our support now more than ever.
