I've been following Michael Ficery's case and something that's been puzzling me is the location where his backpack was found. It's odd that it was near Tiltill Mountain and off his planned route, especially since he was so experienced in that area. Could it be that he decided to veer off course for some reason, or maybe he stumbled upon something unexpected that made him change direction? The fact that his water bottle and camera were missing makes me wonder if he was planning to document something or if it was just part of what he needed when he went off-track. I'm curious if anyone has any insights on what the terrain looks like around that area, particularly near the snowline. Could a sudden weather change have played a role? It raises so many questions about what circumstances could have led him there. Would love to hear thoughts from anyone familiar with that part of Yosemite.
