Hey everyone, I was revisiting the case of James Smith Jr. and I can't stop thinking about the gap in social media coverage back in 2005 compared to now. It's wild how little online presence there is for his case. Nowadays, most disappearances get a ton of attention on platforms like Facebook and Twitter within hours. But for James, it's like there’s this void. I wonder if that limited digital reach back then hindered potential witnesses from coming forward or noticing something unusual. Have any other older cases seen a breakthrough with modern tech or renewed social media pushes? Maybe it’s time we give this another go and see if new eyes on the internet might hold any clues. Thoughts?
Hi everyone, I've been following James Smith Jr.'s case since it first came to light. Something that's been on my mind is the possibility of overlooked connections. I've noticed in some other cold cases, once they've revisited the initial witness statements or re-interviewed people, they found new leads. Do you think there's a chance someone who knew James back then might remember something new today, or maybe they didn't feel comfortable speaking up at the time? Sometimes time changes people's willingness to talk. Anyone else think this angle could uncover something? Any insights on similar cases where retracing steps helped?
Hey everyone, I was reading through some of the old posts about James Smith Jr.’s case and something struck me. Do you think the timing of his disappearance, right after Halloween in 2005, might have affected how quickly people noticed he was missing? I mean, after a holiday like that, when everyone's been busy, running around, and maybe still in party mode, it seems like the absence of someone might not immediately register. Plus, with so many costumes and masks around, could this have played a role in why there aren't more eyewitness accounts? Just wondering if anyone else thinks that might have been a factor that set back the search efforts. It feels like such a puzzle without many of the pieces needed to see the full picture. Anyone have thoughts on this or similar cases where the timing might have been a big deal?
