I’ve been thinking a lot about the neighborhood where Darren Barnes and the others were shot. It’s devastating to see how violence has become such a regular occurrence there. You hear about these neighborhoods where kids can’t even feel safe walking home, and it breaks my heart for Darren's family and his future that was brutally taken away. It seems like everyone knew someone who was there or was affected by what happened. My heart goes out not only to Darren’s family but also to the people in the community who just want to feel safe in their own homes. I know the police have been working hard to solve this case, and I really hope that justice will be served, not just for Darren but for all the victims of violence in Baltimore. If we can raise awareness and support efforts to reduce gun violence, maybe we can prevent more tragedies like this one.
