It's been years since the tragic events at Oakland Elementary, and every time the anniversary comes around, I'm reminded of the bravery and selflessness shown by the faculty and staff that day. I've heard stories about one of the teachers who was in the cafeteria; she apparently risked her own safety to try and protect students. I can't imagine the trauma they must have endured and continue to face. Does anyone know if there's been any kind of support system set up in Greenwood for survivors and families of the victims over the years? I hope that the community has come together to support those who are still hurting. My thoughts are with Shequila Bradley and all the sweet young souls whose lives were impacted that day. The resilience of survivors and the community's commitment to remembering the victims are truly commendable.
