I can't stop thinking about the impact Deputy Taylor's death had on his family, especially his wife and their unborn child. It's been over thirty years, and there's a whole generation now that might not fully grasp the weight of what happened that day. I recently read that there's a park named in Deputy Taylor's honor. It gives me some comfort to know that his sacrifice is remembered in the community he served, providing a space not only to reflect on his legacy but also for families to spend time together in a safe environment. For his son, who never got to meet his father, having such a memorial can serve as a tangible reminder of the heroism his dad displayed. And for the community, it's a constant nod to the sacrifices law enforcement officers make every day. If anyone local has visited the park, I'd love to hear what it’s like and how Deputy Taylor's story is shared with those who visit.
