Did anyone else catch the detail that Jim was particularly active in various trades like masonry and carpentry? I’m thinking about how these skills kept him so connected with his community. He probably helped build quite a few structures around Eutawville. It’s both comforting and sad that parts of him are likely still standing there. I wonder if any of the places he worked on were part of places of importance, like contact points that could've brought him unexpected attention. Given his close ties through church and his skills, I'm curious if there could be some community connection that hasn't been thoroughly examined yet. My thoughts go out to Elizabeth and the family; it must be so difficult to process all this while navigating the sheer amount of love and support he seemed to have around him.
