I've been following the Deborah and Douglas London case, and something that's been on my mind is the incredible fortitude of their son, Daniel. I can’t even begin to imagine the trauma he must have faced walking into that scene. Finding your parents like that would be unimaginable. His 911 call takes courage that most of us hopefully never have to muster. It was bad enough what happened to them, but the fact that this was all because of a robbery orchestrates an even deeper sense of injustice. The Londons were just trying to live their lives, running their business, and it’s terrifying how far these gang members went to silence someone. In these forums, we often focus on the criminals, trying to understand their motives, but I hope we can spare some thoughts and prayers for those left behind, especially someone like Daniel who's lost so much. It's crucial we continue to voice the impact of such tragedies on families and communities.
