It’s truly difficult to fathom what Wanda’s family must be enduring. I think it’s important to shed light on how systemic domestic violence can be, especially given that Wanda had already sought refuge with her daughter. The statistics can only tell us so much, but Wanda's story puts a real face to the tragedy. It's unimaginable that she was caught in such a vicious cycle, particularly after she had already made the step to leave. Her bravery to leave should not go unnoticed, and it's a stark reminder of the urgency in providing effective support systems for those in similar situations. My heart goes out to her daughter, Juanita, and the rest of her family. I hope they find some comfort in each other, and that Wanda's story can bring more awareness and hopefully prevent further tragedies.
