It’s been a while, and I'm still thinking about Von and everything surrounding that fateful day. I can't help but wonder about the effect this tragedy had on the neighborhood. Burton is a small place, and when something like this happens, it ripples through everyone who calls it home. Von was clearly loved, and his loss must have left a significant void, not just for his family, but for everyone who knew him. I keep thinking about how this incident might have changed the feeling of safety in the community. Did people start being more cautious, or did it bring neighbors closer together to support one another during such a difficult time? I truly hope Jovan’s family received the support they needed and that his friends have found some peace. It’s comforting to know that the community came together for his funeral; it must have been a touching tribute to how much he meant to everyone. How are people in Burton dealing with the aftermath now, years later? Are there any community initiatives or gatherings that were inspired by Von’s life or dedicated to ending violence in his memory?
