Has anyone else been struck by the role that bystanders could have played in preventing the tragedy of Luther "Woody" Cribb III? It's incredibly sad to think that Woody was in that parking lot for hours, seemingly unnoticed apart from the altercation that led to his death. I've been wondering if there's more that we as a community can do to support and protect those who find themselves in vulnerable situations like his. Was there anyone at the gas station that night who saw anything leading up to the altercation? It's painful to think that maybe just one person stepping in or calling for help sooner might have changed the outcome. Let's keep talking and sharing ways we can watch out for each other to help prevent future tragedies. My heart goes out to Woody's family and loved ones. I can't imagine the pain they must have felt knowing he was so close to others yet ultimately left unprotected. Here's hoping we can learn something from this and look out for our neighbors who might need an extra hand or someone to stand up for them.
