Does anyone else feel like Santino Aguek's story is a tragic reminder of how senseless violence can upend lives that have already endured so much? It's so upsetting to think about his journey—the miles he must have traveled, the hardships he had to overcome, just to find some peace—and then to have it end so abruptly and violently. I can’t even begin to imagine what his family must be going through, especially considering the dangerous circumstances he had already survived. It feels like the struggles he faced as a Lost Boy should have been behind him, but instead, they followed him here in a different form. I hope someone comes forward with information to finally give his family the answers they need—and to ensure his legacy isn’t defined by this tragedy. The community owes him that much.

I've been following Santino Aguek's case, and it's truly terrible what his family is going through. I recently read about the increase in homicides in Louisville that year, and it's sad to see how innocent lives like Santino's become part of these statistics. It's frustrating that, despite the surge, these cases often remain unsolved, leaving families without closure. Santino had already been through so much as a Lost Boy, and he sought peace and stability here. It's distressing that he found the opposite. I really hope that someone who knows something about that night comes forward, so his family can finally get the answers they deserve. It's important we keep this case alive in our discussions and support the efforts to find justice for Santino.
