I’ve been following the tragic murder of Harnish Patel since it happened, and something that truly stands out is how loved and respected he was by his community. It's hard not to feel for his family, especially knowing he left behind a young child. By all accounts, Patel was an incredibly generous person, even staying open late for customers who couldn’t make it during regular hours.
The part that especially frustrates me is how he was attacked right outside his home—a place where he should have felt most safe. While it's reassuring to see arrests have been made, I can't imagine the frustration of his family with no one yet facing direct charges for the murder itself. This case, like too many others, highlights broader issues against immigrant communities, and I hope it doesn’t fade into the background before justice is served.
Anyone else here from the Lancaster area? How’s the community holding up these days?
