It's been over five years since Jalis was taken from us, and I can't help but think about the impact on his peers and the local youth community. Losing someone so young and full of promise is incredibly tough, and I can only imagine the ripple effects his passing has had on his friends and classmates. I'm curious if anyone knows how the schools in McCormick and Greenwood have dealt with this tragedy? Have there been any programs or initiatives started in his memory, perhaps focused on conflict resolution or violence prevention? It would be heartening to know that something positive emerged from such a senseless act. My thoughts are with Jalis's family and all those who loved him. He deserved so much better, and I hope as a community, we're finding ways to ensure this doesn't happen to another young person.
