I keep thinking about the impact this senseless act has had on the community around Waccamaw Bingo Hall. From what I've read, Sparky and his father were beloved figures, known for cultivating a warm and welcoming spot that brought a lot of joy to so many people. It's awful to think that a place meant for laughter and friendly competition turned into the scene of such a tragic event.
I wasn't familiar with the Johnsons personally, but it's clear the outpouring of love and support from their neighbors and patrons says a lot about who they were. This incident is a grim reminder of how quickly things can change and just how important it is for us to come together in times like these. I attended the vigil, and it was moving to see so many people there, all standing together in solidarity.
