I've been following the tragic case of Desmond Williams and his friends Martice Green and Malik Gibbs, and something that really sticks out to me is the community's response. I'm deeply moved by how St. Stephen and Pineville have come together to support the victims' families. From the candlelight vigils to the prayer services at St. Phillip Baptist Church, it’s clear that Desmond had a profound impact on those around him. Hearing about his love for cars and how he cherished time with his family makes it all the more painful to think about such a promising young life cut short. I can’t help but wonder about the ripple effects of such an event. We often focus on the immediate families, but I think of his teachers, his classmates from Timberland High School, and everyone else who knew him. These are the moments when a tight-knit community shows its strength and resilience. Hoping for more answers and peace for everyone involved, and that justice is fully served.
