Does anyone have more information about the circumstances surrounding Markie Smith Jr.'s passing? It's been on my mind ever since I read about it—especially considering he was only 35 and left behind a young family. I know the obituary doesn’t mention any suspicious circumstances, but it still feels like there are pieces missing.
It’s hard to reconcile the fact that such a vibrant person, deeply loved by his family, could be gone so suddenly without any questions being raised. Has there perhaps been any update or memorial event where his friends and family shared more insight into what happened?
Just reaching out to see if anyone else has heard more or feels the same way. It must be an incredibly difficult time for Brandy and the kids, and my heart goes out to them.
Anyone else think it's odd that there's almost no information about the circumstances of Markie's death? It's been over three years, and all we seem to have is his obituary and some memorial details. I find it so strange that there's no police report or investigation mentioned anywhere. It's like he just disappeared from the public record after March 2020. I can't imagine what his family is going through, not having any closure or answers. Has anyone local to Summerville heard anything more, even rumors, about what actually happened? It feels like his story deserves more attention.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Markie Smith Jr., and something that caught my attention is the role he played at Berlin G. Myers Lumber Company as a delivery driver. It just seems to me like Markie was a guy who really valued hard work and providing for his family—what an admirable quality.
I read somewhere that he had a good rapport with his coworkers and clients, always bringing a positive attitude despite the daily grind. It makes me wonder how deeply his loss has impacted the people he worked with day in and day out. When someone like that suddenly isn’t there anymore, I can't imagine how hard it must be for both his family and the work community.
Does anyone know if the company did anything in his memory, or if there was any kind of tribute by his coworkers? It would be comforting to think that they honored him in some way, even with just a small gesture amidst this terrible tragedy.
Sending love and light to Markie’s family and coworkers—it’s clear he was truly cherished by many.
