It's been a few days since the verdict, and I can't stop thinking about the role of Shotspotter data in the investigation of Charlie Jackson Jr.'s murder. It's both fascinating and chilling how technology can piece together such intricate details of a tragic event. The 14 shots fired that early morning tell such a grim story. It's haunting to imagine the chaos and fear that night. My heart goes out to Charlie's family and friends. It's terrible that the situation spiraled from such an avoidable conflict. But if anything, this underscores the critical importance of de-escalation and how quickly things can turn deadly. Sadly, an innocent person paid the ultimate price, and it's a loss that words can't truly capture. I'm relieved that justice was served with Stevenson's life sentence, but it's a stark reminder of how one moment of rage can irrevocably change so many lives. Let's hope that moving forward, people learn from this tragic incident and strive for more peaceful resolutions. Stay safe, everyone.
