I recently came across an aspect of the Travis Draper case that really struck me—I read that the Sheriff's Office is considering new legislation about mandating prompt reporting of shootings. It seems like such a logical step to prevent a delay like what happened with Travis's case. It’s concerning to think that there wasn’t already a requirement for this in place. Although the other driver wasn't charged, surely it's important for all parties involved in such a serious situation to report it immediately. My heart goes out to the Draper family as they push for more transparency and accountability. It must be incredibly difficult to navigate their grief amidst these legal challenges, hoping for measures that might prevent other families from experiencing the same pain.
