It's truly devastating to hear about Sonterrious and the others whose lives were cut short that day. I can't stop thinking about how young they were and the potential futures they had ahead of them. With so much focus on the suspects and the investigation, I'm concerned we might overlook the broader picture here. The community responses, like Mayor Foster Senn's remarks on addressing gun violence among youth, really struck me. It’s a crisis that affects not just Newberry but communities everywhere. How do we push for real change so that other families don’t have to endure such unimaginable pain? Would love to hear if others have seen effective community programs or initiatives that have helped deter youth from turning to violence. Maybe we can learn something from them and push for similar actions locally. Sending my deepest sympathies to the families involved. It's essential we all band together to ensure their voices and the memories of these young souls aren't forgotten.
