Has anyone else dug into how escapees were able to roam free for so long after the murder of Patrolman Girard? It's unsettling to think that these suspects had been on the run since they broke out after killing Policeman Pew earlier that year. I'm curious about the methods police used back then to track down criminals, especially considering the technology we have today. How did they handle manhunts at the time with limited resources? My heart goes out to Officer Girard's family; they must have endured so much uncertainty and fear, knowing the responsible parties weren't behind bars. I hope someone can shed light on this era's investigative challenges or perhaps share information about any attempts made to capture these dangerous individuals. The incredible bravery of officers like Girard shouldn't be forgotten, and neither should the pursuit of justice in his name.
