The fact that he not only escaped but also shot three other people, including another agent and a police officer, during his getaway is alarming. It really highlights the immense risks that law enforcement officers faced during that time, especially individuals like Agent Curtis C. Burks who were dedicated to upholding the law. It’s chilling to think about Gladys and young Curtis Jr. having to cope with the loss of a husband and father. This whole situation seems like it was chaos from the start, and it's a real testament to the dangers of enforcing Prohibition. Floyd's subsequent death in Ohio might have provided some closure to those affected, but it doesn't bring Agent Burks back. It's important to remember the sacrifices made by those in law enforcement back then.
