Has anyone looked into the city council's security protocols before the Kirkwood shooting? I know hindsight is 20/20, but I'm curious if there were any warnings or complaints about safety there. Given Thornton's history with the city and his past with Kenneth Yost, it seems like there might have been some red flags. It's so terribly sad to think that Yost, who was just doing his job, was caught in this situation. The discussions that followed about security were definitely needed, but it makes me wonder about the balance between accessibility in public spaces and ensuring everyone's safety. Thoughts?

I've been reflecting a lot on the role of public service and how dedicated people like Kenneth Yost can become targets just by doing their jobs. It's so sad to think of someone who spent their life contributing to the community ending in such violence. Yost served as Kirkwood’s Public Works Director with commitment, and it appears he was caught up in circumstances beyond his control. This makes me ponder about the safety of these public servants who take on roles that impact so many lives. It’s essential that they are protected and their voices are heard, especially when conflicts arise. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and colleagues who had to endure the aftermath of such a senseless act. We need to ensure that grievances are addressed constructively to prevent tragedies like this from reoccurring.

I read about the Kirkwood shooting recently and just can't shake off what happened to those involved, especially Kenneth Yost. It struck me how vulnerable he must have felt, doing his job one moment and then facing such unimaginable violence. Yost had dedicated years to serving the public, and it's just so unsettling to think about how his life ended so abruptly and senselessly. My heart goes out to his family and colleagues, who entrusted him with making their community a better place. I hope we can honor Yost's memory by working towards ensuring such tragedies are prevented in the future. What a tragic loss of lives and potential.
