I grew up in the Lewiston area, not far from where Michael was living in Lapwai, and I've always thought about how close-knit some of these communities are. It seems strange to me that he wasn't reported missing until July 2018, several months after he was last seen. I can't help but wonder if there's more to the delay in reporting. Did anyone in the local area notice gaps where he wasn't around as much, or was his absence not that obvious since he traveled often between these towns? Hope more info comes to light; it's hard to see cases like this where so little surfaces over time.

Has anyone been following the case of Michael Kenneth Murphy Jr.? I was going through details and something really caught my attention: the fact that he wasn’t reported missing until several months after he was last seen. I understand that he moved around frequently, but it seems unusual for someone who was known to keep in touch with family. Why such a delay? Were there any assumptions that might have contributed to this, like thinking he’d gone on an extended trip? It strikes me as incredibly important to figure out what caused the gap in reporting, as it might have impacted the investigation’s early momentum. If anyone has insights or theories, I'd love to hear them!

I've been reading a lot about Michael Kenneth Murphy Jr.'s case, and one detail that stands out to me is the timing of when he was reported missing. The fact that nobody reported him missing until July, several months after he was last seen, seems incredibly strange. I get that he might’ve been independent, making it tougher to notice he was gone right away, but isn't it odd that it took so long for someone to raise the alarm? I wonder if this delay has affected the investigation, maybe missing out on critical early evidence or witnesses. Also, his cell phone not having a working number at the time makes me think that maybe he was trying to stay off the grid for some reason. It's just so mysterious. What do you all think? Does this strike anyone else as unusual?
