It's devastating to think how Bennett's plans to work at a boys' camp in the summer of 1976 never came to fruition. I wonder if anyone from Northern Illinois University remembers seeing him around campus or knows anything about his plans right before he disappeared. It's such a long time ago, but maybe there are alumni who were friends or acquaintances that could shed light on his final days in Chicago? It seems like investigators might still be missing a crucial piece of the puzzle from those days in May. To Bennett's family and friends, I can't imagine the pain you've endured all these years, and I hope that one day soon, justice will finally be served for him. If anyone remembers something, no matter how small, please come forward. Bennett deserves peace, and his case deserves closure.
Hi everyone,
Going through Bennett Brown's case has me reflecting on how brave he must have been, heading off to start a summer job just as he finished his first year away at college. I can't help but wonder about the plans he had and the excitement of starting a new chapter. It's just so upsetting that his life was cut short before he could experience it all.
One thing that's puzzling me is the job he was supposed to start at a boys' camp. It seems like knowing the exact camp might have been a crucial lead. Has anyone heard anything about a camp he worked at, or tried to piece together where he might have been going? Maybe someone out there remembers seeing him or knows someone who does. Sometimes a small detail can lead to a breakthrough. Hoping Bennett’s family gets the answers they deserve.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been reading through some of the discussions about Bennett Brown, and one thing that stuck out to me was the detail about his clothing. It seems like such a small thing, but I'm curious if it could provide us with more clues. Being last seen in what I’m guessing were his casual, everyday clothes—blue jeans, white tennis shoes, and a red hoodie—makes me wonder if he might have trusted whoever he was with or if they caught him by surprise.
Was he on his way to catch transportation to the camp, or was he perhaps meeting someone he knew? It's frustrating how something as simple as a change of plans or a chance encounter might have led to what happened. If he intended to head to a summer job, he surely wouldn’t have wandered far before preparing for that.
I feel for his family and friends, coping not only with his loss but also with the decades of uncertainty. If anyone from Indiana or around Chicago at the time remembers anything, even something seemingly insignificant, it could be enough to push the investigation in a new direction. Let's keep learning and sharing—it might just make a difference.
Thinking of Bennett's loved ones.
