Just read through the details of Jonathan McCrary's case, and I can't stop thinking about the impact this must have on Preston Watts. I can't imagine the emotional turmoil he must be experiencing after making such a life-altering decision. It’s so easy to judge from afar, but stepping into their shoes, the fear and panic he must have felt during that argument are unimaginable. His call to 911 suggests he was desperate for help, maybe hoping they could defuse the situation before it got out of control. "Self-defense" is such a loaded term here, and it seems like this decision will haunt him forever, even if the court granted probation. This is a tragedy on all sides, and I hope both families can find some kind of peace eventually. If anyone has more insight into how the community has reacted or supported both families, I'd appreciate you sharing it.
