I’ve been thinking a lot about the Comer family lately, particularly Rebecca. It's so difficult to wrap my head around how someone can suffer such a fate, especially at the hands of family. I didn’t know them personally, but from what I’ve read, they were well-regarded in their community. Given their involvement in local events, it's hard not to wonder if there were signs that others might have missed, or if this was truly unforeseeable. What struck me was how they were so tightly woven into the fabric of their neighborhood. It’s haunting to think of how their absence resonates with their friends and neighbors. I imagine gatherings must feel different now, with a gap that not only involves their silence but also the weight of the unanswered "whys." Mental health is such a crucial issue, and situations like this remind me of the importance of being there for one another, lending an attentive ear or offering support wherever we can. Such an unspeakable loss surely demands a stronger sense of community awareness and empathy. Sending thoughts to all who were touched by this tragedy.
