Has anyone else been thinking about the role of peer pressure in the Monica Shaw case? It's shocking to me that a group of four individuals could think that their plan was acceptable in any way. I keep wondering about what happens in a person's life that leads them to participate in such a senseless act. The fact that one of the key witnesses was a juvenile makes this even more troubling. What an awful reality for that young person to be exposed to, let alone be involved in. My heart truly goes out to Monica's family and friends. They lost someone special because a group of people made a terrible choice, and I can't help but feel for them as they try to cope with this loss. It's a reminder of how important it is to address the root causes of crime in society.
