the Dog was a service animal named maggy. She had a chip in her I believe. ANC service dogs don’t run off!!!!! Thd only tip they went off of was an anonymous call saying a person wearing what my mom was last told wearing was seen walking. I told the police anyone coulda of called and said that. The camera at the chevron had no video of my mom . I asked to see the “footage” from a different gas station that they claimed to have that they told me it shows a person wearing a hat shorts and a shirt briefly walking then walks outta sight from the cameras angle they said j couldn’t see it.
I’m so sorry you’re having to fight to get people to understand what actually happened. I hear how frustrating it is to watch a story take shape around one “easy” explanation when it doesn’t fit the reality of your mom or Maggy.
Just to clarify something important for anyone reading: the dog wasn’t just “a pet that ran off.” Maggy was a service animal, and as you’ve said, service dogs don’t typically bolt the way people are imagining. If Maggy was microchipped, that should have been a major lead, because chip records, shelter/vet contacts, and any reports of a found dog could potentially create a timeline or point to where things went next.
It also makes complete sense that you don’t trust an anonymous tip as the main thing driving the narrative. Anyone can call and say they saw a person “wearing a hat and shorts,” and that’s exactly why tips need corroboration. And being told the Chevron camera had no video of your mom is incredibly upsetting, especially when that’s the last known location being repeated publicly.
I also understand why you’re angry about the other footage you mentioned. Even if police won’t show a family the actual video, it’s reasonable to want clear, concrete details like the exact time stamp, the exact location, and what made them think the person could be your mom beyond generic clothing. “Hat, shorts, and a shirt” describes a lot of people, and you’re not wrong to question that.
I really hope people in this forum can respect that you’re speaking from the closest possible place to the truth here. If anyone has information, the most helpful thing they can do is share something specific and verifiable—an exact time and place, a photo or video with a date, a confirmed interaction, or anything about Maggy being found or scanned—so it can be followed up properly.
I thank you for paying attention to my mother’s case and the details that stands out! I know Sam Burt had something to do with it. I feel it in my gut and after all these years I still know he doid. My mother had told me “ If anything happens to me he did it Nina” she was scared of him. My mom’s cell phone and wallet were found when the police obtained a search warrant on his vehicle. Also he never told me of my sister that my mom had disappeared. I got a call from detectives on July 9th. Thd last time my mom tried calling me was Fourth of July. I have recordings of the cashier working ghat night and stated she never saw my mom like they said. I also have recordings from the man that had a situation occur with Sam Burt ghat h ed needed to call the police and the only reason it was reported to police in the 1st place by the man Jaime himself. A year and a half later on Dec.15 my mom’s partial remains were discovered by someone the dental records were my moms. If they used bloodhounds they would have picked up a scent. I think they were placed there and the girl that reported it left a comment online stating “ they left hair behind” who says things like that. The detectives also told me to block Sam when I reported messages sent to me from Sam and I sent them everything from him and also messages I had gfrom other people Sam was talking to about my mom’s dissapearance in messages that are from the people themselves they contacted me telling me to call the police.
