At just 19 years old, Zech was on the brink of adulthood, with so much life ahead of him. The fact that this all started over a handgun transaction is both senseless and horrifying. I can't help but think about how this affected his family and friends who are left grappling with this loss. I read somewhere that Zech’s love for fast cars brought a lot of joy to both him and his friends. It’s nice to hear these stories shared by those who knew him. They keep his memory alive amidst all the sadness. It’s moments like those that remind us of who the victims were before their lives were tragically cut short. My thoughts are with everyone affected by his passing—it’s a tough reminder of the fragility of life, and the rippling effects one moment can have on so many.
