I've been following the case of Rezan who went overboard from the MS Amsterdam, and something keeps bugging me about it. Has anyone else noticed the lack of CCTV footage mentioned in the reports? I mean, most cruise ships have extensive surveillance for safety and security, right? Maybe I missed it, but you'd think there'd be a clearer picture of what happened leading up to that moment. I've been on older ships myself, and even then, they had cameras in most public areas. It just seems odd not to have some kind of visual clue—especially since this wasn't that long ago. Perhaps this is something the family might need to push for if it hasn’t been pursued already. What does everyone else think about this angle? Could it provide any more insight into what happened that day?
I’ve been following the Rezan case closely, and one thing that keeps nagging at me is the timing. So, he jumped overboard at 1800 hours, just as the sun was beginning to set. It's odd, isn't it, that this happened at a time when visibility starts to decline? It makes me wonder about the factors that played into this timing. Is there anyone here with maritime experience who can weigh in on how the changing light conditions around Sitka Sound could impact both the incident itself and the subsequent search efforts? I'm curious if it's more difficult to spot someone in the water at that time, especially without a life jacket. Would love to hear some insights!
I was reading about the Rezan case, and something struck me as odd. Why was he on the MS Amsterdam to begin with? I wonder if anyone knows what led him to take that particular cruise. Was he traveling with family or friends, or was this a solo trip? Understanding the reasons behind him being on the ship might provide some clues or context to his state of mind before the incident. Also, if anyone has information on what activities he participated in on the ship or whom he might have interacted with, it could shed some light on the situation leading up to that evening.
