Did anyone else catch the heartbreaking detail about how the Nances were targeted because of a scam? It’s absolutely infuriating to think that Janet and her husband were just going about their daily lives, totally unaware of the danger heading their way. These men pretending to offer legitimate services, and then it spiraling into violence, just emphasizes how predatory and manipulative they were. I imagine that remembering they were targeted like that must add another layer of trauma for the family and the surviving friend. Sure, it's clear that justice is the ultimate goal here, but it just doesn’t erase the terror and betrayal that was inflicted. To other members in communities with elderly relatives, please make sure they’re aware of these kinds of scams. It’s so sick that we even have to think about this, but knowledge is a small form of protection. My heart is with everyone affected.

It’s a striking reminder of the resilience and courage some people can show in the face of such unimaginable violence. I can’t help but feel for this survivor, who not only has to deal with the trauma of the attack but also the loss of their dear friends. Have there been any updates on their recovery or statements from the family? It's often the overlooked threads in these stories that need our attention and compassion. Let's keep all the victims in our thoughts as we continue to follow this case.
