The revelation about Mary Jo purchasing a firearm shortly before this tragedy is really unsettling. It just makes me wonder about the internal battles she must have been facing in those days and weeks leading up to this indescribable loss. It's haunting to think about the outward appearance of a devoted family and loving parents, while internally, Mary Jo was grappling with postpartum depression, maybe even psychosis. It's critical that we talk more about postpartum mental health to ensure that new mothers are getting the support and care they truly need. By all accounts, Mary Jo was such a compassionate person, heavily involved in helping others with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. It's heartbreaking that she herself might have been suffering so profoundly without reaching a helping hand. My thoughts are with the Trokey family and their community, who I'm sure are still trying to make sense of it all. This tragedy emphasizes that mental health is just as vital as physical health, and it's a call for us to be more vigilant and supportive to those around us who may be silently struggling.
