I’ve been thinking a lot about the Novoa family and their seemingly perfect life. It's incredibly hard to wrap my head around the fact that someone described as a loving father and husband could be capable of such an act. When I read about how surprised the friends and neighbors were, it really hits home how little we sometimes know about what goes on behind closed doors. It breaks my heart for Ylineh’s classmates and teachers, too. I can’t even imagine how confusing and painful it must be for those young kids to learn that one of their friends won’t be coming back to school. The school’s decision to bring in counselors was absolutely necessary. It’s a reminder to always reach out to those around us—we never truly know what someone might be going through. I hope the community is able to find some peace in the wake of such an unimaginable loss. Sending love to everyone affected by this tragedy.
