I’ve been following Jamie Schmidt's case, and I keep thinking about the incredible strength she showed. It’s difficult to even imagine the courage it must have taken to stand up to such evil in the face of unimaginable fear. Jamie’s refusal to comply with Bruce’s demands is a heartbreaking testament to her bravery and moral integrity. I can't help but think about her family and how they're coping with this unspeakable tragedy. Losing a loved one is never easy, but losing someone in such a senseless act of violence must bring an entirely different level of grief. From everything I've read and heard in interviews, Jamie was a devoted mother and wife; her family meant the world to her. It's hard to wrap your head around how they’re managing to move forward, especially with such a glaring void left by her absence. For those living near Ballwin and House Springs, what’s the community sentiment like now that some time has passed since Bruce’s sentencing? It actually makes me wonder if there’s anything we can do even now to honor Jamie’s memory. Something that speaks to the kind of person she was and maybe provides some solace to her family. It might not change what happened, but perhaps it could be a small step in healing. Thoughts?
