I can't stop thinking about Dontay's kids having to experience something so traumatic. It's unimaginable how terrifying and confusing it must have been for them. I hope they’re surrounded by family members providing as much stability and love as possible during this awful time. It's one thing to read about it, but I can’t even begin to understand the long-term effects this will have on them. Sending all my thoughts to his family and especially those little ones, as they navigate life without their dad. ? Does anyone know if there's been any local community support or resources offered to help them cope?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how we can support families who suffer through tragedies like this. With the holidays approaching, it must be an incredibly difficult time for Davis’s family, especially his children. I can’t imagine the pain they must endure knowing that their father was taken from them in such a brutal way. Those little ones are going through so much, having been present during the horrific event, and now facing a future without their dad. It’s crucial that we find ways to back initiatives that help families in these situations, whether it's through donations or community support systems. The GoFundMe set up by Davis’s family is a good start, but I hope the community can come together to provide ongoing support, not just financially but emotionally as well. We need to ensure that these children have every opportunity to grow up in a supportive environment, even in the face of such adversity. Anyone else have ideas on how we can actively support victims’ families and children in similar situations? It’s so important to keep these conversations going.
