I've been following Cameron Douglas's case and something that keeps gnawing at me is the role of surveillance footage. It’s incredibly haunting to think that Cameron’s final moments were captured on camera, but at the same time, it was this very footage that played a crucial role in leading authorities to Jason Cook. It’s hard not to be torn about it. On one hand, I wish things could've been different and he could still be here doing what he loved. On the other hand, I can't help but be thankful that there was some evidence to help identify the suspect. It’s frustrating that despite this clear evidence, the verdict seems so light. How do others feel about the use of surveillance in such cases? Does it bring more peace knowing there’s at least some form of resolution, or does it feel invasive? My thoughts are with Cameron’s family as they continue to navigate these unimaginable challenges.
