I've been following the case of Shantae Hill-Cook's untimely death, and something that's been on my mind lately is the location of these tragic events. It's hard not to think about how she was just sitting in her car on Southridge Drive, an ordinary act that we all do without a second thought. The randomness and suddenness of the violence is incredibly unsettling. It serves as a grim reminder that life can change in an instant, without warning. My heart really goes out to Shantae's friends and family as they grapple with a loss that feels so senseless. Here's hoping they find strength in each other to navigate through this difficult time. Also, to the community of Jefferson City, stay strong and keep supporting one another.
