I keep thinking about the community's reaction to Romello Shipman's case. It's truly devastating to see how something like this can unfold in broad daylight and yet remain without resolution. Romello was so young, just 22, with his whole life ahead of him. His loss echoes not just through his family but throughout Kansas City. The part that haunts me the most is how close-knit neighborhoods like the one near The Paseo can suddenly feel so unsafe. It's hard not to wonder about the impact on Romello's family, the fear and anxiety his mother must feel knowing those responsible are still out there. I can’t imagine what they’re going through every day. Thankful to the KCPD for their continued efforts, but I do hope more witnesses come forward. If anyone reading this has even the smallest bit of information, please consider reaching out to the authorities. If we all speak up, maybe, just maybe, we can bring some peace to Romello's family.
