I recently stumbled upon Rebecca Conn's case while diving into some local cold cases, and something that caught my attention was the weather on the day she disappeared. January 8, 2019, was reported to have some pretty mild weather in Lafayette. It makes me wonder if her going missing might have involved heading out on foot rather than being taken against her will in a vehicle. If she was outside for any reason, it seems unlikely she would encounter harsh conditions like a storm or extreme cold, which could have factored into her disappearance. Has anyone else considered how the mild weather might play into the circumstances? I guess it's possible that she was just going somewhere briefly and didn't plan on disappearing. It just opens more questions: where was she headed, and who might she have met? Also, if anyone has access to traffic cam footage around that time, it could be worth checking those to see if she was spotted. Just trying to think of alternatives that might bring new insights.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following Rebecca Conn’s case from Lafayette, and something that’s been on my mind lately is the role of local community efforts in missing person cases. From what I've gathered, the Lafayette community did put in a fair amount of effort to find her initially, but it seems like the momentum just faded away after a while. Does anyone know if there are any ongoing local groups or initiatives still actively working on cold cases like Rebecca's? It seems vital to keep the community engaged and raise awareness. Also, are there any other places besides NamUs where people can volunteer to help amplify these cases? I’d love to hear your thoughts or any info you might have. Thanks!
