Has anyone else seen the reports on Khari Jalil Wilson's murder? It's just so senseless. I can't stop thinking about his family saying how much he loved music. It's such a vivid reminder of the lives touched and dreams lost due to this violence. Something that strikes me is how easily this whole incident might have been avoided if Khari hadn't been mistakenly caught up in something he wasn't part of. It makes me wonder about the systems in place for out-of-towners in cities like Saint Louis—someone minding their own business can end up in such a tragic situation. Can we do more to protect people and prevent mistaken identity cases like this from happening in the first place? My heart goes out to his family; what they must be going through is unimaginable. Hoping they find justice soon.
