I've been following the tragic case of Kaiden Alex Peak and his brother Mayson, and it's truly difficult to comprehend the pain their family must be going through. Something that really caught my attention was the fact that Darrell Peak, the father, was seen walking with his sons along Highway 65 and even interacted with people. It's chilling to think that help was so close, yet the outcome was so different. It raises so many questions about how mental health crises play out in real-time and the barriers that prevent people from accepting help. My heart goes out to the extended family and community who are grappling with the loss of these innocent lives. How do we support individuals in distress better, especially when they're with their children?
