Wow, it’s really hard to wrap my mind around this case. I’ve been following it and am deeply saddened by how it unfolded. What stands out to me is the location where poor Kevin Page lost his life. I grew up near the Greater Ville neighborhood and it’s devastating to see yet another incident of violence at a corner store—a place that should feel like the heart of the community. From what family and local testimonies say, Kevin was doing his best to create a safe and inviting space with his store, which makes this even more tragic. The whole community is surely feeling the loss profoundly. Seeing these kinds of violent incidents occurring near schools, like where O.J. Pernell's body was found, adds another layer of sadness and concern. Kids should never have to confront these harsh realities so close to their learning environment. The vigil the community held for Kevin warms my heart slightly; it’s a testament to his impact and the love people had for him. I truly hope more positive change comes out of this tragedy to help turn around the violence in that area. Has anyone else here been directly affected by violence in their neighborhood and managed to witness or push for change?
